Teacher or Student - We Get to Choose - What do you think?

In describing myself to students I tell them that I am very much a student, practitioner and now an "advanced" certified teacher of meditation by davidji.

If you are aware and as present as you can possibly be in each moment as it unfolds you will see more clearly how the roles of "student" and "teacher" are shifting moment to moment in each encounter.

In this moment that my student so graciously allowed me to capture, it immediately became clear that she was my in fact my teacher.

This is a picture of Danielle back for her second private session with me. She is holding davidji's newly revised book, "secrets of meditation". I found such joy in the fact that in less than 15 days she had ritualized her meditation practice, downloaded his 40 Days of Transformation guided meditation tracks, bought his book and clearly had it outlined with multiple post its throughout. She told me that she was struck by a poem davidji used in the book. I asked her to read it to me. However, before reading the poem, Danielle opened up her heart and shared that this poem was hanging up in her home. She gave it to her husband as a gift. It spoke deeply to them as a couple because they loved spending time in nature and she thought it was just so beautiful. Now that she had started to meditate the poem had a deeper, more profound meaning - hard to articulate - i understood her silence completely. Here is the poem:

To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour - William Blake

I asked her to read the poem to me again as I closed my eyes. I had such a profound feeling of grace wash over me that I asked her to repeat it two more times. Wayne Dyer introduced me to that poem years ago. The first time I heard him say it I thought it was beautiful too. Only that was before I practiced meditation. Hearing it again as a student in this moment it seemed to activate the powerful energy of Shakti that davidji has been teaching about in his new book, “Sacred Powers”. The power of this energy rippled through every cell of my entire being landing in the core of my soul awakening me to clarity and even more - to Truth to Transformation.

Deep. I know.

I bow to all of my mentors and teachers and send deep gratitude for the grace that has been bestowed upon me to be in the brilliance of their light ~ Namaste

May you be a blessing.
