Recently a student mentioned during our meditation circle gathering that she has been waking up around 4 AM every night. A few other students chimed in that the same thing was happening for them.

I responded with a teaching I learned from Dr. Wayne Dyer. It begins with a beautiful quote from Rumi, the 13th century ancient poet and Sufi master. Rumi is considered to be the most popular poet in the United States.

"The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.

Don't go back to sleep.

You must ask for what you really want.

Don't go back to sleep."

Next time this happens, remember this poem from Rumi. These hours before dawn are when we are close to our Source. It is a great time to begin your dialogue with the Universe and to meditate, pray or journal.

Be still and know the great I AM.
